High-Vacuum Coating
Süd-Optik Schirmer GmbH is your expert in the field of high-vacuum coating. In the last few years, optical coating has seen constant development – which is why we have continued to specialise in it. For many kinds of optics it is necessary to produce colour spectra or to direct and filter them through reflective layers. So that we can put this into practice according to your requirements and needs, our facility is constantly being modernised and equipped with the most state-of-the-art equipment. Our processes and machines ensure that we can calculate, simulate and produce individual layer designs according to customer requirements.
High-vacuum coatings are used in a wide variety of industries, including lighting technology, optoelectronics, sensor technology and signaling technology. Of course, we also serve other industries. If you have individual inquiries, please feel free to contact us. In collaboration with you, we will clarify whether and to what extent the high-vacuum coating process is an option for you and your products.
Our many years of experience with our customers nationally and internationally are proof of our competence in the field of high-vacuum coatings. Successfully completing an order according to your vision requires close cooperation. This means that we involve you in the implementation process. We support you in process development and design and are also there for you after production is complete.
With our qualified employees, the most modern manufacturing processes and strict quality standards, we ensure that your requirements are implemented exactly!
High-vacuum coating – what types are there?
- Reflective coating: with the help of reflective coating, the reflectivity of a surface is increased. After the substrate has been applied, light rays are reflected back to form a reflection. The best-known reflective coating is mirror coating.
- Anti-reflective coating: anti-reflective coating of surfaces largely reduces unwanted reflections on the surface of a product. This works by applying thin layers to the surface of the substrate. Due to the application of the layers and the different refractive indices of the materials, it is no longer possible for the light rays to cause a reflection. We can produce the optimal layer design directly in-house.
- Colour-effect coatings: colour-effect coatings serve to visually enhance your product. A colour coating is a type of coating in which the substrate material, for example optical lenses or chandeliers, are finished with a single or multi-coloured coating. Modern processes enable us to offer you high-quality products with colour-effect coatings. Of course, you can also have your product coated by us as a service. These coatings are widespread in the lighting industry (e.g. for chandeliers) and in the fashion world.
- Colour filters: colour filters are thin, transparent layers. These ensure that certain wavelengths or ranges of light entering a material are filtered out of the spectrum exiting it. Colour filters can be produced in almost any colour in the visible spectrum. If you are interested in our colour filters, we would be happy to send you a sample card.
- Gold/silver coatings: by coating substrates with gold or silver it is possible to achieve an almost 100% reflection. Gold mirrors are often used in sensor technology for detection. Due to our modern coating processes, gold/silver coatings are very well protected from weathering.
- Filter layers: with the help of filter layers, certain wavelengths can be reflected or transmitted. Filter layers are often used for infrared light in the area of sensor technology or in the application of LED systems.
